Metal Finishing Company is known for it's many finishing that are available. What was once just a few metal finishes has grown to over 200 different coatings and finishes. Don't think that this is just primers and paints. Metal Finishing Company has taken a vast variety of materials and looked at the possible finishes each may require. Primers are a very familiar metal finish. Both aircraft and commercial industries utilize primers with many having their own specifications that Metal Finishing Company has qualified to apply.

The paint shop at Metal Finishing Company doesn't just stop with primers. There is a large selection of top coats available. Many of these coatings are for specific purposes, such as multi-component expoxy or teflon topcoats.
Processes that require spray application include Prime, Top Coat, Spray Dot, Sol-Gel and Dry Film Lube. These coatings are applied in one of our many paint shops. Prior to spray applications, parts are inspected to verify the thickness and uniformity of any prior process. Our paint shops utilize High Volume Low Pressure application methods in most cases, depending on the specification requirements. Metal Finishing Company staffs three shifts in most process areas, spray application processes typically are the last process before inspection and packaging, therefore these areas have been staffed with three shifts for several years in order to meet tight schedule demands.
Parts requiring curing of spray applications are placed in one of two different cure oven configurations. Smaller parts are placed on racks and dried or cured in one of our pass through conveyor ovens. This takes approximately 20 min from one end to the other. The second method is a roll in oven system. Parts are placed on racks which are placed on roller carts and moved into the oven. After cooling, the parts are moved to part marking or inspection. In inspection the processing is verified and the required inspection stamps are applied. The order is then packaged using best shop practice or using customer supplied containers to ensure the parts travel safely to the shipping department.
Shot peening can be performed on steels, aluminum and titanium. We currently have 3 wheelabrators capable of processing parts as small as 1” long or up to 62” long. We also have a manual pressure pot machine capable of handling 45” long parts. We typically shoot 230 regular and hard shot.
Our Blasting department includes the use of plastic media, aluminum oxide or glass bead. This is usually a pre-plating process or used to add a certain cosmetic requirement.
A wide variety of passivate and cleaning methods are available for Steels, Titanium and Stainless Steels.
Decorative and hard chrome plating can be pre-polished or altered to a line finish, matt finish or others if required. This is applied in our polish shop. Many of the polished parts are used on the interior of aircrafts.
