WHO SHOULD ATTEND:Entry Level NDT Personnel, Inspectors and Supervisors
PREREQUISITES: All course attendees should have a basic knowledge of the Eddy Current process. Basic knowledge may come from self study, computer based training or previous institution training. The principals of each method are discussed in each class with the applications and methodology covered in detail specific to the aerospace industry.
ABOUT THE COURSE:This course meets the training requirements of Aerospace Industries Association - National Aerospace Standard NAS 410, Certification & Qualification of Nondestructive Test Personnel. The course complies with the training guidelines of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189 and American National Standard CP-105. The course addresses the inspection and process control methodology of ASTM standards and incorporates the process control attributes of NADCAP (PRI) document AC7114. Attendees will receive formal classroom training, hands on inspection and be required to perform all process controls relative to aerospace requirements. Hands on inspection will include the processing of aerospace hardware and inspection of parts with known defects using aerospace approved materials and equipment.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Robert Potter is an employee of the Metal Finishing Company where he serves as the Responsible NDT Level III. He has thirty years of nondestructive testing experience in aerospace and nuclear power. He is an ASNTcertificated Level III, a NAS 410 Level III with Metal Finishing and an ASNT Fellow - Class of 2002. Mr. Potter is also on the Certification Management Council of ASNT where he is a committee member of the penetrant, eddy current, ultrasonic, magnetic particle committees and Chair Person of the Radiography and Neutron Radiography committees.
