WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Entry Level NDT Personnel,
Inspectors and Supervisors
PREREQUISITES: All course attendees should have a
basic knowledge of the Eddy Current process. Basic knowledge may come from self
study, computer based training or previous institution training. The principals
of each method are discussed in each class with the applications and
methodology covered in detail specific to the aerospace industry.
ABOUT THE COURSE: This course meets the training
requirements of Aerospace Industries Association - National Aerospace Standard
NAS 410, Certification & Qualification of Nondestructive Test Personnel.
The course complies with the training guidelines of the American Society for
Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT
CP-189 and American National Standard CP-105. The course addresses the
inspection and process control methodology for aerospace. Attendees will
receive formal classroom training, hands on inspection and be required to
perform all process controls relative to aerospace requirements. Hands on
inspection will include the processing of aerospace hardware and inspection of
parts with known defects using aerospace approved materials and equipment.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Robert Potter is an employee
of the Metal Finishing Company where he serves as the Responsible NDT Level
III. He has thirty years of nondestructive testing experience in aerospace and
nuclear power. He is an ASNTcertificated Level III, a NAS 410 Level III with
Metal Finishing and an ASNT Fellow - Class of 2002. Mr. Potter is also on the
Certification Management Council of ASNT where he is a committee member of the
penetrant, eddy current, ultrasonic, magnetic particle committees and Chair
Person of the Radiography and Neutron Radiography committees.
