Consulting Services

Metal Finishing Company (MFCO) offers consulting services that includes training, program development, third party audit and personnel certification. All services are performed by experienced personnel with a high degree of expertise.  Consulting personnel hold industry certification granted by the American Society of Quality (Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Mechanical Inspector, Certified Quality Auditor), American Welding Society (Certified Welding Inspector) and the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (Certificated Level III).  Personnel also set on industry committees establishing state-of-the-art inspection methodology such as the American Society for Tests & Measures (ASTM) E7 committee and American Society of Nondestructive Testing Certification Management Council.

Training

The training programs combine self study and computer based training with formal classroom and hands on instruction. The training focuses on day to day inspection challenges with emphasis the specific materials, parts and components.

What differentiates us from other training organizations?

Our students perform inspection on actual hardware, using documented procedures and approved specifications, with production inspection equipment and materials under the guidance of certified personnel. They leave with command knowledge of prime contractor and process control requirements. Training offered includes:
  • Nondestructive Testing
  • Auditing
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Visual & Weld Inspection

Program Development

One of the keys to any program is documented procedures that comply with customer requirements and reflect the actual working practice and equipment of the company. We don't generate paper - we take the time to learn the process flow of your company and build the procedure around your present process. Following procedure development, an actual walk through is conducted (self audit) to assure the necessary steps are adequately defined, reflect the intent and that personnel understand the process.. Program development includes:
  • Quality Program Manual Development
  • Procedure Development
  • Process Flow Evaluation

Audit

All audits are performed by certified Lead Auditors that meet ISO, ANSI and aerospace requirements. Audits support internal independent annual assessments, preparatory audits for third party certification and/or trouble shooting audits to support root cause evaluation. The process includes a review of existing procedures to verify compliance with customer requirements and a review of the implementation of procedures to verify the effectiveness of the program. Audits are performed by personnel certified by ASQ as Certified Quality Auditors.

Personnel Certification

Testing and certification services are offered that address industry and prime contractor requirements. Tests reflect the equipment, procedures and specifications that the inspector is expected to have knowledge of to perform day to day tasks.
